Makayla Hale

Hi, I'm Makayla Hale, a children's book illustrator with a heart for storytelling, whimsy, and wonder. My style leans vintage, magical, and soft, often inspired by nature, childhood nostalgia, and everyday moments that feel like little fairytales.

I'm currently based in sunny Florida, working from my cozy home studio with an iPad in hand (and usually coffee near by!). After years of dreaming about making art full-time, I now have the joy of illustrating picture books for authors across the country, helping bring their stories to life with color, emotion and heart.

When i'm not sketching or coloring, you can find me collecting knick knacks, planning creative workshops, or spending time at the beach with my husband and our dog. I believe in creating art that feels like a hug, comforting, playful, and full of love.
